Winter Layers: Slip Dress Edition
Hey lovelies! So as we all know, winter can definitely have you feeling a little bit more drab than fab. If there’s any fashion advice I can give you all to tackle the winter woes, it would be to layer, layer, and layer some more. Layering doesn’t necessarily have to just stick to wearing a cami underneath your favorite knit sweater, but it also includes layering your favorite dresses to make them more wearable in the winter season. Here I’ll show you guys how I layer this simple slip dress I made to make it more wearable for the current season.
For this look, I decided I’d opt for a simple black velvet long sleeve and leather jacket. Lately I’ve been obsessed with these mesh socks I got from Forever 21 and since then I knew I had to pair them with these black suede pointed toe pumps. Talk about match made in fashionista heaven. The dress is made out of a suede/velvet kind of fabric so I added a feathery chain statement necklace to mix up the texture. You can wear this on a night out on the town or to dinner with some friends. My favorite thing about this outfit is that it’s super versatile and most importantly COMFORTABLE.
Alright guys so this look obviously taps into the inner glam queen that lives within me (and every other fashionista). This fur leopard coat is everything and SUPER warm. Fun fact: my grandma still has no idea I’ve taken her coat hostage lol. I wore the dress with a white turtleneck which is a major winter essential. Helps keep you warm as well as bringing a nice contrast to the overall look. Not to mention these taupe OTK boots (shout out Steve Madden) definitely tie the look together and the white cross body bag is the cherry on top. This look says “I’m flashy and I know it” 💁🏽♀️
So you know when your friends are having a chill get together but you still want to look presentable? Yup, so do I. This look is super simple, yet still casual and stylish. I layered a knit over the dress and added some fishnets. For this look you can definitely opt for sneakers to make it more casual but since I wanted to keep it girly, I decided to wear booties. They’re just perfect for any situation. I added gold accessories to polish off the look. And of course, in typical Ashley fashion, I topped the whole fit off with a fur. I really wouldn’t be me if I didn’t 😉
