Going Into 2019...
Wow. It’s already 2019. Where has the time gone?! Going into the new year, I usually reflect on all the things the past year has taught me. 2018 was definitely the most grueling year for me thus far, yet it was also the year that has taught me the most lessons. I struggled through finances, was confused about my career path, and had my fair share of mental breakdowns throughout the semester. Needless to say, I survived and here I am in 2019. I appreciate all the past experiences because without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
For this new year, I’m taking everything I learned and using it to my advantage. That means taking my DIYs to the next level, taking risks for possible career opportunities, and most importantly putting my health (mental & physical) first. The best way I like to handle my goals for the year is by writing them down. That way I can always have something to refer back to as the year goes by, as well as a visual reminder to keep at it!
Having my friends and family as my support system certainly goes a long way in keeping me sane. Once I tell them my goals, they help lift me up during those moments where I start questioning everything and why I’m even trying. A new year is the perfect opportunity for change! I used to be scared of change, but now I’m starting to accept it. Everyone needs a fresh start and s moment to regroup. I used to stress over things that aren’t in my control, which I quickly realized isn’t healthy. Doing things that are in my control definitely give me the feeling of empowerment and it helps keep me focused.
I hope this post has inspired you all to dream and chase after your goals, no matter what! At the end of the day, you are the only one living YOUR life... might as well make the most of it!
