DIY Face Mask
Hiiii everyone 🤗 I hope you all are staying safe and healthy amidst this COVID-19 pandemic! I know times are crazy right now but in time we will get through this. With all this extra time on my hands I wanted to show you all how to make your own face masks using any cotton fabric you have that's probably lying around the house. These are super easy to make and efficient since they are machine washable! Now, let's get started.
Elastic 1/4 inch width
Needle & thread (or hot glue gun/fabric glue)
measure + cut a 10in x 9in piece of fabric, then fold in half right sides facing together.
measure + cut two pieces of 6 in elastic and sandwich in between fabric then pin in place, leaving a 2 in gap in the middle.
sew along pinned edges making sure not to close the 2 in gap.
turn mask inside out through the gap, making sure to flatten the seams as you go.
close the gap using a very small and close to the edge stitch.
pinch a small dart on both ends of the mask to make it more fitted, then pin in place + sew closed. (dart was about 1/4-1/2 in wide)
and now you have a fully functional face mask! 😷
I hope this helps you all get through this tough time we are all experiencing and know that with time, we will all get through it together! Stay safe & healthy!
